About Us

A Sentinel is a watchful guardian that stands at the threshold during moments of transition, protecting what matters and signaling when attention or change is needed. Like a Lighthouse, it does not control the journey, but offers structure, visibility, and steady guidance through uncertainty - a beacon signaling safety and direction.

The Sentinel Recovery House logo reflects our role in recovery: to provide awareness, guidance, and a steady presence, standing watch as individuals learn to recognize patterns, navigate challenges, and move forward through self-awareness, reclaiming their lives and anchoring them in recovery.

My Story:

For more than 15 years, I struggled with meth and alcohol addiction. Sobriety didn’t come from a magic pill or a single program. But it did come from a defining moment - the moment I decided I was done.

I made a clear choice.
I do not put substances into my body that alter how I feel or how I deal with life.
I do not use drugs.
I do not drink alcohol.

I do not use mind altering substances.
Period.
Decision made.

What followed wasn’t instant ease or perfection. Recovery unfolded through a long, imperfect process - marked by both successes and failures - and lessons learned along the way.   It required countless hours of therapy, service, self-reflection, healing, and surrounding myself with the right support.

That defining decision had to be followed by many supportive ones that conitnue in the present moment - daily choices that protect my sobriety, encourage my growth, and create space for real healing to continue in my life.

I’ve taken everything I lived through - the struggle, the work, and the clarity that came from choosing differently - and poured my heart into creating a space to help others where sobriety, recovery, and healing walk hand in hand.  That place is The Sentinel Recovery House.
